Penalties are the events that take place within the sport that is against the NFL rule book.

Offsides= +5 yards for the offense / This is when a player on defense move past the line of scrimmage before the ball is hiked and initating the start of play.

False Start= -5 yards for the offense / This is when the offensive player jumps offsides.
